Front cup holders are too big for a pop can, they slide around in there. Might be OK for a larger plastic bottle. Has anyone found either a factory option or aftermarket option to put some pressure on the can to hold it in place like most other manufacturers have? Odd oversight. No factory option per my Infiniti dealer.

If not, I'll make one.

Japanese peeps dont drink pop. The engineers only designed the holders for water and health drinks. :D

if you took the insert out (im ASSuming you have a 2011+), does that help or hurt?

Yeah could be they didn't consider the 12 oz. pop cans. But removing the insert makes it works, larger opening. Somewhere it said that the reason for the insert is to facilitate removal to clean and to permit a larger bottle as needed. Which begs the question as to why the other two openings don't have an insert.

I'm visualizing some sort of flexible material that grips the bottle and yet expands to admit larger bottles too. Sounds like a Home Depot and/or hardware store project. Or even just a pad of some of that non-slip material (the stuff they put on your dash to set a cell phone on so it doesn't slide around) - that would restrict its movements for anything but a serious turn.
