I have the 22" wheels that came with my 2011 QX56 (these are the upgraded OEM wheels that came with one of the packages).

The 22" wheels come with Bridgestone 275/50 22 tires and when you go to Tirerack, these are the only available tires in that size. My tires have lasted 25k miles and are needing to be replaced here shortly.

My local tire shop says I can go with a 285/45 22 tire but I'm hesitant to do that but if I do, there are quite a few more options.

For those with the 22" wheel, have you switched out tires yet and if so, how many miles did you get and what did you go with?

305/45/22

I have the 22" OEM wheels too and I did a tire spec comparison (attached). The 285/45 22 is about 3/4 of inch smaller in diameter than the stock tire. A comparable size that might be a better fit is the 305/45/22. The diameter is the same as stock but is about 1" wider. IMO it's better to gain 1" in width than lose almost an inch in height. There are also a ton of tire options for this size.

Nitto Terra Grapler AT Tires 305/45/22

I'm still running the stock tires but looking at upgrading to the Nitto Terra Grappler AT Tires 305/45/22. I found a pic on on the web attached.

interested to see what people come back with. the stock tires are among the worst I have ever owned. horrible in the snow. I am running 18" blizzaks in the winter here.

Do you have any pictures of the blizzaks on your QX? At 18" you must of bought different wheels?

Goodyear Fortera SL 305/45R-22

Here is another great option for the 22" wheels. The tires review well on-line and they are less than $200 per tire.

Fortera is a complete paradox of performance. It's smooth, yet aggressive. Powerful, but refined. Fortera combines the assertive handling, traction and responsiveness of an SUV tire with all the quiet comforts of a touring radial. The end result is an excellent balance of performance throughout the entire life of the tire.

•Highly buttressed tread block elements for excellent performance in rain and snow.
•Deep blades and grooves extend tread life without sacrificing performance.
•Computer-optimized tire shape and tread pattern provide excellent balance of performance properties throughout the life of the tire.
•Staggered circumferential grooves, curvilinear blades and see-thru grooves enhance forward and lateral traction.
•Intricate blading in the riding ribs and centerline for stable handling and even treadwear.
•Footprint insensitivity to load improve handling, noise reduction and all-season traction.

I would like to hear what other people have replaced the stock 22' tires with. The vehicle has been out for awhile now surely; somebody has tried another size tire. I talked to the Infiniti maintenance department at my local dealer, about trying different size tires. The shop told me it was not a good ideal ,because it could throw other things off.

The main thing it will throw off is the speedometer. If you have 22" wheels and use the tire size I did the spec comparison on above the difference is less than 1 mph (.04). I've talked to a few other Infinity dealers and they made similar comments but can't say exactly what else will change. I've searched all the QX chat forums and websites and can't find one single issue from somebody changing out the tire size with a similar size.
