Hi y'all I'm replacing my low beam bulbs in my 2012 Qx56. I know the size are D2 but I wanted to know does anyone no if I can just buy a HID bulb off Amazon or eBay most likely 8000k and it work/compatible and look like stock or better??

My experience with HID's is that no they won't match even the if the kelvin or K numbers are the same. I have always replaced both at same time to ensure the color is correct. DDM Tuning has always been a great resource to me for HID products and their CS is awesome. Everything ships from China so it will likely be several weeks before you get your order. Just FYI.

The OE D2S bulbs are rated 4300K. Once you go higher than 6000K, the output of the actual light diminishes and emits more of a bluish beam. Go with either Phillips or Osram for quality D2S bulbs.

I've been researching this for weeks now. I know for sure they are D2S size. What I'm wondering is how much the factory's fade over time. I had a Cadillac before this Infiniti and the lights were way brighter. Granted both cars were bought used. So I have no idea of how much night time driving was done. I was told to go for the Osram 66240CBB. Kinda pricey at about $190 a set...but they are supposed to be the best. As it sits, my low beams with fogs are brighter than high beams (fogs turn off with high beams...but thinking of rewiring them to ignition...sort of like DRL) .
