De-program or delete Stock Transmitter key starter cut off?

Not sure if I worded this right. I have a 99 i30 and only one stock key left. The remote dose not work and the key is chipping where the chip is located in housing. I have a spare, but because it is not a transponder key the car cuts off after a few seconds. Can the system be deprogrammed so a generic key can work. I don't need to spend hundreds of $ to fix the problem. Thanks
