On my 2000 I30, I recently replaced both front axles and both struts. After replacing the struts, the one on the RH side (passenger) now makes a creaking sound. It is very irritating and noticeable. Even when I first sit in the car I hear it. If I push down on the car, I hear it, and when I drive the car... OMG... I hear it.
I took it to a mechanic and he said it was the bearing on top of the strut that makes that sound, but I have my doubts. Before I put the new struts on, it never made this sound. I don't even like to think it, but it almost sounds like a ball joint kind of sound, but again, it didn't do this before I replaced the strut.
I'm wondering if maybe I "tweaked" the ball joint somehow during replacement, or if there is actually something wrong with the strut? Please, someone tell me what's going on up there. I appreciate all input.
Thank you,
Darrin
