Can not pull down the trunk lid of my infiniti j30, what do I do?

There is nothing stuck in the hinges or the turnk opening and no oversized load in the trunk! The trunk was never slammed on anything trapped in the opening or any oversized loads. The lid was never pushed or pried open beyond the normal limit. This is a serious question no flippant replies, please.
The trunk is in the fully open position, and will not lower to the clasp.

inside the trunk, instead of using gas shocks to hold trunk up to keep from slamming shut is two rods, running across the roof of trunk, just underneath yout rear dash. they run across each other and form a "x". make sure they arent bending when u try to close the trunk. look over the tensioners to see if anything is obstructing them, ans straighten them if bent. these usually only mess up when there is somthing blocking them.
