I have a 2012 M37X and have experienced intermittent problems with the auto-tilt side mirror function. Just to be clear, this is the feature that, when engaged, causes both side mirrors to automatically tilt downwards when you put the car in reverse and return to their original position when the car is put in back in drive or park.
For me, only about 1 out of every 3 or 4 times, do the mirrors fully return to their original position; when they do not return, they sometimes stay completely tilted down, and sometimes return about half way before stopping. I have taken the car in for service on this and was told a service bulletin existed, resulting in (I am told) the replacement of a controller unit. After servicing, the mirrors behaved correctly for about a week and then the problem returned.
I am curious if others have this problem and were successful in getting it remedied. If so, can you share what you know?
