I am replacing the alternator in my 2012 Q56. I’ve got everything removed and loose as well as the Belt Tensioner. I still DO NOT have enough room to pull the alt vertical and out. Do I need to remove the Power Steering Pump as well?

Thank you for the information. I tried to remove the alternator yesterday and again this evening to no avail. The math just doesn’t work for it to come out on the bottom UNLESS I take off the sway bar. Humm? I have a good friend who’s a Service Manager over several car dealerships coming tonight to take a look.

UPDATE: I took the liberty to remove the four (4) bolts that support the front stabilizer to the frame. Once removed I just swung the bar downward and that have me enough room to pull out the alternator. It was still difficult but, you have to move all the hoses behind the alternator then wiggle it out.
