So, I remember reading somewhere that the Qx56 (2013) comes stock with two 8" subwoofers...well, today I had a local car audio place take a look and what we found was a 4" ported "subwoofer" in the left rear panel. There is probably another one somewhere on the same side (but I didn't want to take the seat out to find it)..... but REALLY? a 4" Subwoofer...or two? WOW!

Any way, looking to find out if anyone has upgraded their Subwoofer, as I am not entirely happy with the current sound? My Toyota Tundra limited sounded much better.
I'm also looking at changing out the stock Satellite speakers to Focal components. Yes, I will be adding a JL Audio amp, or two, to power these.
Any one have any thoughts?

Thanks.

It's Bose so I would highly doubt it's any larger than 4 inches. I just completed a complete Bose removal in my 2005 Chevy silverado 2500hd. My "subwoofer" was mounted in the center console. It's barely 5 inches. I've got a pic I will try to attach of the sub sitting beside the front door speakers that are 6.5".
Keep in mind Bose doesn't disclose any of their impedance ratings for any of their speakers and I think most of them are 2 ohm. Makes pairing them up really tough which is why I gutted everything. Also in my truck the headunit and Bose amp worked together to power the speakers. Removing the oem headunit totally changed the system for the better. I'm blown away at how much better the new polk components sound in the doors. I put a 10" Polk sub in a Downfiring box inside my custom center console.
Back to your topic. Make sure you know what you are getting into with Bose systems. I won't ever own another in an auto. Bose name stamped on garbage to cut costs.
