I have 2001 I30. The AC was fine until last week But then it suddenly stopped working. When it is not working, no air comes out of the ducts even if I set the temperature to lowest and blower speed to highest.
The strange thing is that it sometimes starts working normally. The air flow is normal and the cooling is normal. But it then suddenly stops in few minutes. No air, no cooling. Next time when I start my car, it may or may not work. But if it works, it stops after few minutes.
Before this happened, I also noticed another peculiar thing with the car's electrical system. When the head lights are ON, the other lights (dash board, radio, ac) turns off. I initially thought that it was due to week battery but I never had a starting problem. And this has been going on since a month, so if it was due to week battery, I should have starting problem by now or my head lights would not turn on.
I wonder whether these two are connected or they are separate issues! Any suggestions, ideas??
