!998 Nissan Infiniti I30 Maxima wont start sputtered and died?

1998 Infinity I30 starts up runs fine power seems a little off lately all of a sudden the engine begins to sputter and dies this happened twice in one month now it happened and its hard to start well i got it to start got it home checked out the fluids and checked the intake hoses and maf to see if anything was loose tried to restart and it a no go now any ideas the starter does turn the engine

check connections on alt or the alt itselfi just had the same prob now runnin like a stuck dog
