'98 I30 cylander out

My cousin recently bought a '98 i30 with about 180k. It ran like a champ at first, but on an interstate trip the water pump went out. after having it replaced it it runs like garbage and he was told that the number 1 cylander was not firing. The ignition coil was checked, compression is good. it shakes something fierce on start up but otherwise runs. Went to go get it through emissions and got the following OBD2 codes:
p0325 - knock sensor circuit malfunction
p1148
p1168
p0600 serial communication link malfunction
p0134 O2 sensor circuit no activity detected

any ideas???

I figured since I asked for help I would at least keep ya'll posted. Due to the massive list of obd codes indicating a circuit malfunction or simlier situation i was thinking since i had already made sure nothing was simply not plugged in or frayed, that a short was possible or that the wiring harness was fried (a terrible thought). after a somewhat lengthy internet search for similar situations and in particular the p0600 code, I found out that a wiring harness failure is a somewhat common problem with these engines and that a TSB was released and that a repair kit might actually exist. I will be calling the dealership in the morning and will let you guys know what i find out!!

Following the procedure in the TSB from the Nissan dealership (got me one for a maxima, Infinity dealership too far away) on the sheilded wires affected by the error codes (02 sensor imediately showed a short. TSB that has repair guide for other wires says shielded wires cannot be rapaired so entire wiring harness must be replaced. Infinity dealership quoted me a price well over $1000 dollars. Salvage yard up the road giving me one for $125.

New wiring harness picked up for 75 dollars, however car is still running the same. have swapped spark plugs and coils around to be sure am really stuck now. any ideas?? maybe the computer??

Some of the forum people are having trouble with engine stalling upon acceleration, which can be attributed to many factors. But if the fuel pressure and vacuum pressure are ok and the catalytic converter is not the problem, the ECM could be interpreting and sending wrong messages to regulators. I have a 2001 I30 with over 90000 miles registered. I still do not know the exact problem thats causing the stalling but I'm open to answers form the forum. Thanks Richard

fuel injectors, plugs, coils unplug listen to motor on the one with no change should be changed then change all plugs if that dont work mite be a dead piston
