96 I30t Wont Start

Cruising along @ 55 and all of a sudden the car dies.... It cranks fine with enough to start the car easily but nothing.... Mech. cked the 1st few things...
Fuel pump is fine... timing belt is fine.... no pulse @ injectors though... not sure about spark.... another mech/instructor says it could be the theft deterrant acting up so... pull batt cables then touch 'em together to release any charge then hook up batt and try...... Any thoughts on this stupid 'lil matter would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Anyone else see this problem please reply!!!

i bought a 96 i30 and it's doing a similar thing, it kind of stumbles and wants to die. Mechanics at my work thinking Mass air flow sensor. Don't know for sure yet, don't really want to drop $400+ and not be sure.
