Hi All. Just looking for some advice regarding snow handling in the 2wd version (2011-13). I know it has the snow setting, but just wondering if I need to limit my search to only 4wd versions. I live in the midwest, so we do get snow, but only a couple times each season we might have more than 4+ inches.

Depends on pricing, but we went with 4wd cause we've had 2wd's in the family forever and there's always a need for 4wd.

When you need it, you really need it. I'm in the same boat just north of Chicago and I wouldn't get anything but 4wd.

When I was young, I drove a truck with my dad. Mostly weekly trips up and down the west coast from Seattle/Portland to the LA area. After putting on chains almost every week in the winter time, I swore I would never have to do that with my personal vehicles.

I may only use it once a year, but to me that is better than putting chains on.

And after I retire, I don't even want to see snow on TV. Screw that stuff.

I agree with Silverback. The positives greatly outweigh the negatives for 4wd over time in my opinion. Obviously for me it's a bigger need in the winter but I haven't owned a 2wd vehicle in my life that has been lived mostly in Mississippi and a few years in Kansas City. Too many variables for me especially when towing to not have the 4wd.
The snow feature was handy this past winter. The QX is pretty torquey and this can get you in trouble in the snow. I used the snow setting several times. It reduces the torque and hp output to the drivetrain. I'm sure there are more things as well but that is what I immediately noticed.
