I have a 2011 QX that is just turning 60,000 miles. I want another, but don't want to wait until January. Has anyone confirmed the new release date?

Thanks!

according to a June 7th press release from infiniti it is the 2013 QX comes out in Sept.

Infiniti QX Full-Size Luxury SUV

Moving Objection Detection (MOD) added to the standard Around View® Monitor
New standard auto-dimming exterior mirrors
Upgraded remote control and interface added to the Theater Package
New Smoky Quartz exterior color (replaces Mountain Sage)
Available September 2012

and what features??

I am also interested in what features might be added in the 2013. I have never owned an Infiniti but am in the market for a new car. Wondering if I should go with the 2012 or wait until the 2013 comes out.

how in the world did you get 60K on a 2011!

YIKES 60K! you must have purchased this when they first were avail back in late 2010?

the 2013 model adds auto dim outside mirrors, the the moving object detection feature that the new jx has. no mention of remote start.

i do not know why nissan did not include the auto dim mirrors on all models. guess it came down to a cost cutting measure? i miss those on my armada.

It's really strange to me that they offer the remote start on the JX and not on the QX. That's a feature I'd really like to have.

This is my company car. I drive about 30,000 miles a year, and bought this new in September, 2010. Traded in a Tahoe LTZ. They stopped offering the 6.2 liter V-8 in the Tahoe, so I looked around. This is a great vehicle, VERY comfortable, and I want another!

Some Infiniti dealers have a way to add the remote start to your existing fob. I had mine programmed this way. The only thing you have to remember is that when you get in the qx you have to hit the start button three times to cycle the ignition to run. Otherwise the minute you touch the brake pedal the engine goes off.

2013 model Availability

In mid-July I ordered a 2013 QX with all the options. I was looking for a 2012 model, but could not find one with the colors and options I wanted. My dealer advised me that the new vehicle would be manufactured in September and would be delivered to Florida in early October.

I understand that I will be losing the "music box" feature which was available on most 2012 models produced prior to the final quarter of this year. That disappoints me since my Lexus sedan I will be trading in has that convenient feature which allows direct/fast recording of owned CD's onto the vehicle's hard drive. For some reason car makers seem to prefer to record from computer onto iPod's now, but I don't think that is as convenient. It also requires the driver to carry the iPod in the vehicle in order to play it.

its just as easy to rip CDs at your home computer directly to an ipod/android/any phone/device that has BT connectivity and stream using the BT A2DP protocol.

the music box was a nice idea--for 2006. its just not user friendly and offers very limited options--such as you cant pick and chose which songs you want--its all or nothing. a couple of encoding options and thats it. i had this since the 2008 armada i drove prior to my 12 QX and I did use this option a little but instead found it easier to transfer files to a 8GB CF card and pop it in for immediate satisfaction.

ive not used the music box feature at all on the new Q and instead used the USB port. Lately, however, im now streaming from my Android handset that has 64GB of storage avail for me to install to my hearts content.

in the end you will not miss the music box feature at all. the USB port is much more convenient and BT streaming is also better. I now use the USB port to view movies/videos and keep the phone for streaming music. perfect combination.

welcome to nissan my friend and you will absolutely enjoy the new Q!

Same as lanseJ. Could not find a 2012 qx with all the options and a split bench in the color I wanted. Ordered a 2013 when the booking slot opened for it in July.

Thanks for the welcome and the technical info. I guess I am fortunate that my 2007 Lexus 460L sedan has a feature that allows me to record any or all tracks of a CD. No unwanted tracks to litter the scene. I still believe there is less handling or processing than there is to the several steps involved in recording to the iPod via a computer and then transmit via the vehicle. The great majority of my collection is classical music which is very limited at the iTunes Store.

I don't have an Android and my phone is a very simple one that does have Bluetooth for handsfree operation. I plan to keep the phone I have now. I look forward to familiarizing myself with the 2013 QX. Unfortunately, I know I will be visiting the gas pumps a little more often now.

i dont use itunes at all and i agree using itunes to get music to your device is a bit cumbersome. blame that on apple keeping their OS so closed up, it makes it hard to do anything quickly on it.

All I have to do on my android, is copy my files and wirelessly transfer them over to the android device via my wireless network.

i enjoy classical music (long time Phillip Glass fan--i have cassette tapes) and jazz (Ahmad Jamal - beautiful jazz pianist).

its super easy to transfer to my android, but i am a tech head which is the main reason i purchased the Q. the luxury components are second. :)

in the end you dont need any handset. just get an SD card and transfer your files directly to the SD card and pop it in the USB port. so, rip your CDs to your laptop/desktop, then copy/paste onto the SD card. easy peasy lemon squezzy. :D
