2012 QX56 Violent Jerking (Lurching) Problem

[ISA 2012]

Does anyone on this forum know of anyone else who has experienced a violent jerking with a 2012 QX56 when it's above 20mph and the vehicle has approximately 800 miles on it?

If anyone has had a similar experience or knows of someone who has, please let me know.

Nope, just passed 1,000 miles today. Sounds like a transmission problem.

is the car throwing any DTC's?
is the car used or is this the first owner?
when you say "violent jerking" what does this mean?

is it when shifting from one gear to another?

downshifting?

does it happen when the car is IN gear (and not changing gears) and just cruising?

what happens if you put the car in manual mode?

is it AWD or 2WD? HBMC installed?

what grade of petrol is being used? 87? 89? 91? 93? 100?

need more answers before anyone can offer any help.

first thing that needs to be checked is the DTC's. go to autozone or someplace that has a OBDII scanner to see if any codes are present.

if 4X4, put it in 4H and drive it. see if it jerks then as well.

if the car us used, did you pull a VIN report on it? see if it has been in any accidents, etc.

Hey ISA 2012, we you able to resolve the issue? What was the issue?

We had what sounds like the same issue. Make sure the 4WD switch is turned to Auto, put he car in reverse, and drive about 20 feet. Then put it back in drive. should be fixed. We were told that it went into the 4WD low mode.
