Howdy folks! New to this forum and a new Infinity QX56 owner. My question is about the pass side rear screen not coming on. On the system/rear screen section of front screen menu, you can scroll to the 2nd screen and push enter, and it just wont change the "on" icon to the on setting ( the word "on" changes to an orange color when it turns on). The screen one comes on fine and displays the dvd being played. The remote does not turn on the screen either. I do not think it is an input source issue, as the main menu will not even turn on the screen, and therefore you cannot choose an input source. I will continue to look for answers, but do any of you have any diagnostic steps I can take, such as fuses specific to the screen, and or connectors that may need to be re seated?
Also, if the lcd panel its self is dead, would that cause the main menu to act as it does when trying to turn on the 2nd lcd screen? Thanks in advance! TB

Hello and welcome. Sorry about the trouble..

Trying it unpack your questions and I’m a bit confused...

So the driver side rear works, but the passenger side does not?
On the front screen you can activate the rear driver screen with the ON setting. The ON bubble will illuminate orange. However for the rear passenger screen. The bubble does not illuminate orange. In fact the system will not even let you select it correct?

If the above is true, ive ever seen or heard of this before. I dont see how , if the passenger screen was not wiring, woudl it prevent you from turning on the screen from the front.

The screen has wiring inside the seat, so being that your car is used, can you reach out to the previous owner? Or was it from a car lot? Did you know the screen was not working when yo bought it? If so what did the owner/car dear say caused the issue to it?

If you are familiar with service manuals, you can find the service manual (the same the infiniti techs use) online for free and read up on the wiring diagram. As far as I know there is no diagnostic function used to test the screen.

Since the front screen will not allow you to turn on the rear passenger screen, it could be the AV unit thats the problem. This is the unit that all the audio/video passes through (kind of like your home theater preamp).

Thanks marctronics. Yes you have it mostly correct. The rear driver side panel comes on but the passenger side does not. While navigating through the rear screen menu setting on the front screen, you can scroll over top of the rear passenger screen, but it will not turn orange when you push enter (the driver side rear will change from on to off in that same menu). Thanks

If the front screen does not even acknowledge the rear screen it could be an issue with the AV unit I mentioned. Maybe a video would further help what you are experiencing...
