I went to the supermarket. From my keyfob, I hit the button to open the liftgate. It went up with no problems. After loading the groceries I hit the button again on my keyfob and the hatch didn't go down. I tried it using the button on the left side of the steering wheel and the liftgate didn't respond. I then manually pushed the liftgate down and it didn't lock. I tried pushing the button again to lift it and it wouldn't go up. While it was down I pressed the button and liftgate didn't respond. I finally from the back seat hit the manual lock to keep the liftgate down. This happened about 6 months ago and then at some point started working again. Any ideas on how to fix this?
UPDATE - my liftgate is now working. I checked fuses and they were all working. I then read a thread suggesting removing the battery terminals from the battery for 5 minutes and then reconnecting fixed their problem. I removed just the positive (+) cable for 30 seconds and now my liftgate is working again. Hopes this helps others with this problem.
