2012 QX Wiper Blades react to heat.

During the hotter months (Jan to December! ) here in the DFW area, my truck sits in the sun at work. When I go out in the afternoon to start it, the windshield wiper blades do a quick swoosh, but the wiper arm is in the off position. It never does it more than once, but the front wipers go over and back and then its done.... Is anyone else ever experienced this issue????

I have a 2012 QX with 15000 miles, that I bought brand new.

Is it possible you may have pulled the wiper arm back once? This will activate the wiper arm and will swipe once across the windshield. If not, I would take it back to the dealership to have evaluated.

are you certain you don't have the wipers set for intermittent and low sensitivity?

since it rarely rains, the wipers are set to off. i make it a point to make sure that i don't hit the wiper arm when i turn the truck on...

every time its hot outside and the truck has been sitting, they wipe... then never again on the trip home... very frustrating...

i took the truck over to Crest last summer... CND... debating on whether or not to take it back to them and let them dig into it or just live with it....

there is an issue in your wiper system and/or possibly the BCM. its not normal. if you are certain you or now one else is bumping the wiper stalk as you enter/exit the vehicle, there is an issue somewhere and you should take it in for service as it could be something more serious upstream.

Mine does that too sometimes. It seems to be more than just the heat for me...it seems like a combination of heat and sunlight hitting the sensor just so. Of course, I've had my windshield replaced and it took me awhile to get the goo around the sensor just right so it worked at all (it didn't, initially, but now its fine). So that's a slight caveat.

Just an update.... the dealership replaced the rain sensor. we will see if that was the issue.........
