I did a search and someone else had asked this question, but gotten no replies.

Is there a way to make the doors automatically unlock when you shift into park as opposed to only unlocking when engine is cut off?

If not, is there a way to completely turn off the auto lock function? And yes, I would definitely prefer this to what the vehicle does right now!

Our vehicles for the last 13 years have auto unlocked the doors when placed in park and we've gotten very used to that. And let's be honest, there's no real safety advantage to waiting to unlock doors when engine is cutoff versus when vehicle is placed in park. Old habits are just very hard to break.

its in the owners manual on how to disable the auto lock feature. its early in the manual.

no you cant setup the car to unlock when shifted into park.

Yeah, I see how to disable auto Unlock, but not how to totally disable the auto Lock feature.

I disabled our auto lock feature. Just follow the directions for disabling the auto unlock, but hold down the 'lock' button for 3 secs (or whatever it is) instead of holding down the 'unlock' button.

Any updates???

Checking in on an update to this old post. Just bought a 2011 QX. Looking to have the doors unlock when shifting into park. Hoping someone has figured out a way to do this. Please advise.
