...morning on a 2011 fully loaded (minus the tech package). Paying $48,750 ($51K out the door). The downside is, it has 40K miles...but it's in new condition. I just want to get into one without paying what new ones cost. Any advice, warnings or tips are appreciated. Thank you!

Don't know big guy...

that's a lot of mileage for a 2011. I have 27k on mine, and I drive a lot.

Paying $51k is INSANE!!! I paid $58.8k brand new in Dec 2010, with 3.9% financing.

You can do better than that... and you also have to ask yourself if you're ok with paying $4.50/gallon for super... the beast is THIRSTY my friend!!!

I agree. The mileage is high. Trying to find alternatives now, but just curious as to what options you got on yours. We would lease it with the special they're running now, but our credit sucks (unless you want to co-sign for me...lol). We're paying cash.

Here's a question: What's a fair price (out the door) for this car? KBB is showing the trade-in value at $1,000 less than the out the door price.

The gas is not a problem. The beast will stay fed.

I have to wonder if that Infiniti was every parked? I have a 2011, my wife drives it a lot and it has 15k miles on it.

I personally would never buy a car that has over about 12k/year average on it and even that's high for me. I like buying used but I find cars that are in great condition with low miles. For example, my 2008 BMW I bought in early 2011 had 20k miles on it.

My opinion is mileage can be misleading. I travel for work in outside sales. I average 50-60k per year every year and I have for the past 15 years. My vehicles are the most well cared for on the market. I get oil changes on time, tires rotated every oil change, all of the preventative maintenance and follow up. For example I have a 2011 Chevy truck I got the last week in June last year and it currently has 44k on it. All of my mileage is freeway driving for the most part. I would check to see if there are service records available. See what the mechanics say when they check it out. I think the price is probably too high and I would check auto trader for sure for used vehicles. I found a 2012 on there with 900 miles for $58k. I bought mine new for $60k. 2012 with the theater package, exterior protection package, interior protection package, tire and rim protection package, diamond fusion treatment package, all weather floor mats, cargo mat that hinges up to cover back of third row seat and front door windows tinted to match back door windows.

I know, right? Apparently the owner drove cross-country a couple times. Is there a good price for this truck, or should it be avoided altogether?

There's always a good price for everything but I don't know what it is. If I were in your shoes, I'd decide on the car I want including the mileage requirements and then figure out how much that car is worth. Then if you find that car but with high miles, you decide if the high mileage is OK at a discounted price and what that price would be. I think most dealers charge 20 cents or more per mile the car is over the alotted mileage in a lease, so that's a number you could work with when deciding a reasonable discount.

Personally, and I know you're not me I'm just speaking for myself, I'd continue looking until I find what I want with the mileage I want and a year old car with that many miles wouldn't interest me.

I think I'm going to to that. Thanks for all the advice.
