2011 QX 56 Long beep and ignition light flashes when I shut car down

Just heard something new today. It happened a few times today for the first time ever. I went to shut the car down and when I pushed the button, there was a long beep before all the lights went off. I thought it was odd but left my car. I got in it about 3 1/2 hours later and drove about 10 miles and same thing happened. Push the ignition off button and another long, single beep. It was dark now so I also noticed that the ignition light was slowly flashing before it turned off. So I turned the car back on and off and it did what i was used to hearing (no beep, push button light goes off immediately). Anyone experience this?

i know if the headlamp switch is in the manual ON position and you turn off the key it will beeeeeeeeeep to let you know the lights are on. other than that thats a new thing ive not heard of before.
