I need to remove intake to replace starter. What is the best/safest way to remove fuel pressure if the engine won't crank?
Background - in case you think I'm on the wrong track:
2008 Qx56 wouldn't start last night, engine turned for a sec and then stopped. Engine wouldn't turn on following tries. Checked all fuses, they're all good. You can still hear the starter clicking when the ignition is turned to start position.
Measured voltage at battery to be 12.7v. Measured voltage while starting, battery dropped to 7.9v. Seemed low to me. I charged battery for 30 minutes or so, no difference. Tried jump start, no difference. Decided to replace battery, no difference.
At this point, I'm thinking it's the starter, it's clearly getting voltage, you can see the voltage drop and here the starter click. Starter is under Intake, have to remove fuel line, and of course fuel pressure. The techniques I know, require cranking the engine with fuel pump off.
Okay - looks like I may have a different issue. I decided to try and rotate motor from front crank pulley, and seems locked up.
