About a year ago purchased a used 2008 QX56. Love the car but the one thing it does that we weren't expecting was for the gps system to be locked up when driving. Our family pulls a 27 foot travel trailer and not being able to plan ahead on long trips for gasoline, rest areas and campgrounds is a major problem for us. We feel it is more of a safety hazard to have to pull off the road to use the gps rather than the passenger being able to access it while travelling. This past trip we took our portable gqs system and used it instead of the one built into the suv. Does anyone know if there is away around this problem? Is there a way to reconnect or rewire so that it can be used on the road? For safety reasons, we would love to be able to use our gps on the road where it is needed the most. Thanks for thoughts.
