While driving my 2008 M35 I lost the key fob that I used to start the vehicle. When I reached my destination and turned the car off, I realized somehow, I had lost the key. Looked for weeks to no avail. Spare FOB will not start the car (replaced battery). When inserted in slot, lights and chimes work, but car will not start. I am told (by a dealer) for these older models you must replace the Body Control Module (BCM) but Infinity has discontinued making them. Purchased and tried a used one but told it would not program. Dealer now telling me I must total a car with 95000 miles in mint condition which just does not ring correct to me. Anybody experience this issue and are there any work arounds to fix? Any ideas at all would be helpful.
