Hi all, this is a cross post from freshalloy forums. Trying to expand the footprint...

Hello,

I have an 08 with the music box radio. The nav hack instructions are not valid on these cars. (Don't know if it's the music box hard drive system that makes for the incompatibility, or if it's just 08's in general)

Also, there is no DVD player in the glovebox for the Nav, since I think the info is on the harddrive. So the place in the glovebox where the dvd would go is occupied by a bracket holding what I think to be the connector that needs modification.

I do not have the advanced tech package that includes a DVD player, but mine has the DVD player inputs on the back of the center console, which I would re-route to a DVD player I would install in the console.

Here is a picture of what the innards look like on my 08:

I think I've found the right connector to modify pins on. Looks familiar in wire routing to all of the documentation on this forum for previous M's.

But if you take a look at the connector closeup below (Sorry for the bad quality) The number of pins is different than all of the instructions on the NAV hack. For example, the NAV hack instrucitons show a connector that has 5 wires from the left, an open space, then 6 wires to the end. This connector from the same perspective has 5 wires, a space, then 5 wires.

The colors as best I can tell of this connector from the latch facing you, and top down, are:
Red/silver, Blue/silver, Green/silver, Purple/silver, White <space> Yellow, Black, Purple/silver, Black/silver, blk/red stripe/silver dot

Can anyone help with a lookup of which wire is the speed sensor and which one is the parking brake sensor? I've got my glove box out just now, so I can poke around if needed. I don't think there are any other connectors that look modifiable, so I'm pretty sure the one I showed is it.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
