I have a 2010 G37 convertible. I live in PA so I did not use the convertible top all winter. This spring the first time I tried to put the top down nothing would work. It took about 15 min, turning the car off and on, and pressing the convertible top button a million times for the top to finally work. Since then this has happened intermittently - maybe every other time I try to put the top down. Occasionally it happens when trying to put the top up. I brought it to the dealer, who basically told me there was nothing wrong, they "reset" it. It kept happening, I had an appt for Monday, and two days before the car wouldn't turn off. Yes would not turn off. And the door open wouldnt go away even after I opened and closed both doors about 100 times. BAck to the dealer right then. Then ended up replacing an amperage modulator ??. Convertible top STILL not going down every time. Is there something else I should be telling them. They are suspicious....like I have no idea how to press the button, and of course its not reproducible. In addition I now have a dent and a separate ding in the metal over the passenger door. Makes me suspicious that something isnt lining up correctly??? The dealer is telling me that this is my fault - that I had something in the trunk.
Any thoughts? I am about to invoke the lemon law...

Did you buy it new or used? The top is a difficult beast to understand. The " you closed the top with something in the trunk" is what they always say first. I have an 09 and had a few probs with my top too. If you went up or down half way and stopped the action, or turned the car off, the timing of the motors will be off. If the top has an issue, they blame it on owner error, cause some many th I ngs can go wrong if done wrong. The rest should have worked. Good luck and keepbus posted

I wish you all the luck in the world and please keep me posted. I have a 2013 G37 Convertible and the last known mileage I had was around 5,500 (it's been at the dealership for almost three weeks). Around 3,700 miles the roof was starting to have issues. Long story short that I'll be glad to share if you want to hear is that the convertible top malfunctions --- gets stuck half way when putting it up. I've got photos, a video, witnesses but since the dealer cant duplicate and has conveniently cleared the codes (but I know the codes are stored in their system) --- there is nothing they can do. I have spoken with Consumer Affairs in my region, which represents Risk Management more than Consumer Advocacy. Infiniti needs to call a spade a spade, but since they can't duplicate --- they can't get the technical specialist to come or do much of anything else. So --- my albatross is a 2013 with only 5,500 miles and has been back to the dealer for roof issues 4 or fives times ---- the roof has known problems (Infiniti Sales doesn't share that info in the brochure) --- and they can do nothing. So, I wish you all the luck in the world. Keep us posted.

Hello ! just wondering how you fixed the problem? We have the same car I had something in the trunk and it just quit when it hit it as it was going down , now no power whatsoever we had to manually put the top back up ? Curious if you know how to fix this to where it is working again okay ?

Actually we hit the button for it open as it opened it hit a lamp in the trunk as we had no clue this would cause this problem... your right it is out of time because it stopped and won’t return back to close ? We have since put it back in place but how do we get it to power back on ?

Disconnect battery and either allow battery to be disconnected overnight or make contact five times with positive and negative automobile terminals to discharge capacitors then wait 30 minutes to reconnect the battery. Connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal to the battery. When attempting to operate the roof, try either open or close roof. If no response is happening in one operation (example closing the roof) try to complete the open the roof operation. I still had trunk open error after resetting the battery but I continued on to try to operate the roof and my roof completed its open roof operation. I hope this information helps.
