I have a used Infiniti I30 which I have had extensive work done on. I purchased it in Feb and it had 100,000 miles on it.
I have replaced all wiring and installed a new computer.
It also has a new Alternator and Battery. It also has a new
Air Flow Module.
The car runs really smooth, in fact you can hardly hear the engine.
Had oil change and all engine fluids flushed and replaced
The SES light just came on and I had Auto Zone check it for code.
The code that cae up was PO420 which indicated either
1. Catalytic Converter defective Failure possibly due to #2,3,or 4
2. Engine misfire or running condition
3. Large Vaccum leak
4. Engine Oil leakage into exhast-valve guide seals,
piston rings.

Any ideas?

There are no unusual odors, no jerks or misfires that i can detect. The car runs so smooth you can hardly hear it running.
I would think if there were any oil leakage, that it would have been detected ,when the oil was changed.

Check Maxima.org and search using the code for an answer (the code is P0420 not PO420, there should be a zero after the "P" not an "O") . The Maxima and the I30 and I35 are mechanically identical cars. That site has far more information available to answer your question.
