remote lock and nothing happens? Okay like I've said, trying to program my 2 keyless remotes for a 2002 Infiniti G20, when I get to the step of pressing the lock button on the remote- nothing happens. I guess lights are suppose to flicker and I just got back from Wal-Mart to replace the batteries. Any one else with this problem?
I got the remote KBRASTU10 model A which is what most sites tell me my car had, but forums are posting these are the wrong remotes- can someone kindly explain to me what is going on?
For the 2002, your FCC should end with "10" so you have the write remote, but theyre is no direct step in the programing that you have to specifically press the lock button, which leads me to belive you may have the wrong instructions...
Infiniti > Reprogram Remote Key Fob
Project: Reprogram Remote Key Fob
Models:
* 2003-2008 FX
* 1999-2002 G20
* 2003-2007 G35
* 1996-2001 I30
* 2002-2004 I35
* 2004-2008 M45
* 1997-2001 Q45
* 1997-2003 QX4
* 2004-2008 QX56
Note: The horn chirp can be disable by pressing the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously until the hazard lights flash, and no enable press the lock and unlock until the horn chirp.
To reprogram (enter new ID) key fob (keyless remote controller) follow the steps.
1. Close all doors and lock all doors
2. Insert and remove the key from the ignition key cylinder more than six times within 10 seconds.
(The hazard warning lamp will then flash.)
NOTE:
Key should be withdrawn from ignition key cylinder completely each time.
NOTE:
Do not rush the insertion/removal key cycling process. The side
marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this step is
accurately completed.
3. Insert key on ignition key cylinder and turn ignition key switch to "AAC" position
At this time, the new ID code is entered and original (previous) ID codes are erase.
4. Press any button on the new remote controller once. (The hazard warning lamp will then flash)
NOTE:
Do not press the button more than one time in the above step. If the button
is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.
The side marker/tail/license lamps and interior illumination will flash twice when this
step is accurately completed and programming is successful.
If there is only one remote controller skip step 5.
5. Additional ID code entry
Release the door lock, then lock again with door lock/unlock switch
(In power window main switch)
6. Remove key from ignition
7. Unlock driver side door, open driver side door and then close the door. (END)
these are for sure correct as i just did mine not too long ago.

i too am trying to do this but i have a silly question.
as my car is a 'push start' i don't have (that i can see) a typical ignition cylinder that fits a key so i'm just wondering i am missing something?
thanks.

Your fob does seem to be correct - IF you have a 2002.
The most important thing, especially for 2000's, is the mfg date. You can see this on the low end of the driver's door pillar.
CLick HERE (http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/common/infiniti_reprogram_key_fob.htm)to see a chart of Infiniti key fob models
Now click HERE (http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/common/remotes/index.htm) to see what each fob looks like.
The differences are slight, but critical.
hope this helps!

Make sure to check the manufacture date of your car.
Look on bottom of the driver's door post to get that.
Click here (http://www.infinitihelp.com/diy/common/remotes/index.htm) to see what your fob's actual part number will be & to see what it should look like.
Even if your FCC number is correct, the model number might be wrong. These things are very similar, and if you don't have the precise one required, it'll never work.
So much ebay sadness can now be avoided:p

I think I have an answer. There are two models of fobs. Model 01A - with a button for the trunk, and a Model A without a button for the trunk.
My 2002 needed the Model A, however since I wanted the trunk button, I ordered the model 01A. The model 01A does not work on my car. Ironman Locksmith, out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, got me going yesterday. He had a Model A remote that he programmed just fine, for my car.
I will be returning my Model 01A.
So if your current remote does not 'take', consider getting the other model.
Thank you.
