I need some help from the forum...
I currently own a 2007 Yukon Denali and love its capabilities but its time for a new car. I am looking at either a Yukon or a QX56 to purchase. The problem is the QX is so nice I feel like it wont be used to its fullest. I pull a boat which im sure is no problem with either vehicle. I am also a hunter and drive around a ranch going to my stand and some light off road crossing a little creek.
Would you recommend this vehicle for that kind of use or is it just too nice?

I recently looked at the Yukon Denali compared to the Infiniti (switching from a dodge ram), I'd say quality, fit and finish there is no comparison. Now do I really want to be taking my Infiniti across a stream? I doubt it, I guess it would really depend on how much you say 'off road' also the interior is pretty nice I'd worry about it getting dirty/wrecked. The Denali doesn't have much ground clearance either though..

Did you end up with the QX?
I have no problem driving my 07 Denali around the farm. I would assume that the QX56 could handle all or most situations. The owners of the farm I hunt at drive the Lincoln navigator all over the place. Again I assume with this vehicle having the 4x4 it should be no problem.

I have both trucks - the 2007 Danali and 2011 QX-56. I haul a lot with both, QX-56 does a better job, and is much more comfortable inside for my 4 hour runs. I don't take either off road, but I do freak out when I get dirt or mud in the QX-56, not so much in the Danali. I think your concern is legit. No question it can handle the off road and 4X4ing, but it is very luxurious inside, and it would feel strange "trucking" it up.

Ok let's compare
the QX has a 5.6L V8 engine
22" size rims
400 horsepower
413 lb-ft of toque
you have a choice between a 4wd and a 2wd and i recommend the 4wd if your go do some offroad work. IF a Nissan Patrol can be a monster in the desert of offroads then the QX56 can do a better job since its a higher class nissan.
------------
The Yukon Denali has a 6.2L V8 as a standar
403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of toqrue
20" rims
also you got a choice between 2wd and 4wd
------------
my opinion:
In style .... Infiniti all the way because it's just a more luxurious car.
In power: The yukon might have more horsepower and toque but not much for the infiniti to catch up in a 1/4 mile.
hope this helps

Yes, I purchased the QX after looking at LandRover, Denali, Dodge Durango, Lexus. I've now towed my 29' TT that's around 6000lbs and have no regrets! :D
This is how my QX56 gets me around.
These pictures are of my 2004 and 2007. I don't expect this to change with it's replacement. It is built for it!

I've owned a Mercedes GL450 and a GL350. I can honestly say that the '11 QX56 is by far a better vehicle, hands down. The interior is first class and the overall build quality is superior to any full size luxury SUV, IMHO.
