Can anyone give an honest and educated evaluation of the Porsche Cayenne S vs. the Infinity FX45? I was thinking about getting the Porsche (used) but drove the FX45 and was very impressed with it. I haven't driven the Porsche yet. I'm no longer sure I want to pay $10K more for the Porsche. Thanks.

The FX has the best all wheel drive system available in any car, a great drive train, and is very reliable. The Porsche is very luxurious, but has some serious maintenance issues. Its also very expensive to maintain vs. the infiniti.

i think you should buy a corvette to drive your kids around in instead...or better yet get a motorcycle...but i will give you the educated evaluation your looking for....based on your picture you are a dork and are never going to look cool no matter what you drive so save your money and buy plastic surgery...then get some therapy afterward and try and figure out why your so shallow and need a faimly car that goes 160mph...

I know nothing about the Infinity, and I'm generally a rabid Porsche fan; but I'll say this about the Cayenne: It's a nice vehicle and it has good power and comfort, etc., especially if you are talking about the 2008, which is completely redesigned and has some really great, high-tech engineering incorporated that makes it superior to the '07s. BUT Cayennes in general are overpriced and they depreciate like mad, and they suck up some gas. If you look at online dealers like Luxury Motors, they have boatloads of used ones that they can't seem to get rid of. Some of that may be because the '08 is redesigned and has knocked the floor out of the older models' values; but a lot of it just has to do with the gas mileage and subsequent undesirability of SUVs these days.
So if resale value has any thing to do with it, you are probably better off with the Infinity, just because it will cost less to start with and therefore will lose less in terms of real dollars (if not percentages) over the years. Also Porsche mechanics charge the same $85-125 per hour, whether they are working on your Cayenne or your 997 Turbo, so the service on the Infinity will probably cost much less.
