I have intermittent knocking when laboring my engine and have had the dealer do a diagnostic on the engine and they cannot find the problem.
They checked the timing, the spark plugs, and even performed a carbon flush but it did not solve the problem. The car only has 65k miles on it. I read in another forum that there is a knock sensor on Infinity cars. They didn't mention anything about that but I'm wondering if it might be related to that. I am just surprised that the dealer couldn't find the problem. I keep the car on a strict maintenance schedule too. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I am also using high octane fuel which I thought might also be the problem, but didn't work either.

High octane fuel wouldn't cause a knock. I would take the car to another dealer if you seriously thing there is something wrong with it.

Are you sure it's an engine knock ? I mean I typical engine knock wouldn't occur intermittently. It would be a constant thing that would vary in sound in relation to RPM.
