I purchased a new 2011 QX 56 a couple of months ago and the window sticker indicated that the port installed stainless steel rear bumper protector accessory was ordered, included in the delivered price, but on backorder. The dealer indicated today that it is still on backorder and Infiniti is not indicating an expected available date, which according to the dealer is unusual. Has anyone had this same experience or know anything about why it is not available - is Infiniti discontinuing this accessory or trying to find another supplier ?

Same for me - purchased in November, still on backorder.

FWIW - My local dealer parts manager informed me that there was a quality control issue with the adhesive that holds the protector to the bumper.

I've been trying to order since March as well...eta keeps getting pushed back (originally April, now May). I was told it was quality control issues as well.

I had my bumper protector installed last year when I purchased the QX and I have not had any problems with it.

I ordered my in January and was advised that it was on backorder due to quality control issues. I just talked to Infiniti yesterday and was advised that things didn't look good. With all that is going on in Japan, they are unsure when these would become available again. Not sure if I keep holding out or just get my refund.

I had my bumper protector installed last year when I purchased the QX and I have not had any problems with it.
