View Full Version : Passenger door & Trunk randomly work, then doesn't??? EVal95 11-02-2010, 12:41 AM Any ideas??? They work here and there...then just don't at all. Gets reallllly annoying when we got grocery shopping with a 'luxury' car and can't open our damn trunk!!!!!! catperson 11-29-2010, 12:26 PM I had this problem a few years ago. The door locks for the passenger front and rear hatch intermittently would not work. The other doors were not effected. It was definitely very annoying. Turns out it was a bad door lock motor in the passenger front door. The rear hatch somehow gets effected by that also. I had mine fixed under warranty, so I have no idea how much the dealer would charge to replace the motor. EVal95 11-29-2010, 12:46 PM I had this problem a few years ago. From reading I believe the actuator is actually responsible for the passenger door as well as the trunk hatch lock opening. My mechanic said it's def. the actuator acting up..but wasn't sure if one controlled both or I need to buy a new one for each. catperson 11-29-2010, 12:58 PM It's definitely in the passenger door. The actuator is the motor. You shouldn't have to buy 2 of them, only 1 because the passenger door controls the trunk somehow. The problem is in the front, not the back. EVal95 11-30-2010, 12:00 AM Right I understand that. See that's what I read as well but they weren't sure...I'm pretty certain one actuator controls both locks cuz when one works, they both do and vice versa. Hopefully when we return on the 11th of Dec we get it all fixed too :) |
