Hi guys, I'm the happy owner of a 2009 FX35 (white with wheat/white interior). My car is spotless, except for the steering wheel which, in under 10.000 miles, is already showing signs of wear and tear. This spoils the whole look of the inside and I keep seeing the worn areas on the steering wheel even when I drive.

So my question is: can I replace only the top and bottom parts of leather on the steering or do I need to replace the whole damn wheel?

Thanks in advance for your input (there's only one Infiniti dealership in my country and it's 500km away, so I'd rather not drive there to get an answer like :the only way to fix thsi is to replace the whole steering wheel).

My steering wheel started showing severe wear around 45,000, Infiniti kept refusing to address it, and then it finally ripped right after the expiration of the warranty, and they reffuse to act on it. I now have 145,000 miles, and the wheel ruins the interior.

As I understand it, it is a single piece, but an upholstery shop may be able to redo one part.
