I have a 2000 Infiniti with it's Bose stock sound system and I am pondering about buying my friends sony cd player (Not sure what model it is) and install it in my car. I am wondering which would be better the stock system or should i go with the Sony.... and if i get the sony one would i need new speakers? Thanks

the only way you can get the factory bose speakers towork, is to cut the wires coming from each individual speaker, which is on the back of the speaker holder, and run new speaker wire to each speaker. took me about ten hours, but was totaly worth it . mine sounds really good.

so are you saying you ran new speaker wire to each speaker and then just connected th new speaker wire to the harness of the head unit. is the headunit the only thing powering your speakers now?

yes. i put a pioneer aftermarket head unit, then bought a plug in harness to connect to the factory wiring plug, then ran new speaker wire to each individual speaker, bypassing the amps.
