I am in the market for this car right now. I know the VQ35DE is a very popular engine. I am a little nervous about buying the 2009 model with the VQ35HR. My main concern in not performance. My main concern is reliability and cost of repairs. I am buying this car an plan on keeping it for the minimum of five years. I want to make sure that after the warranty is up I am not beating myself on the head for picking the wrong model with the wrong engine.

Well, if you can, I would wait and get a VQ37 Engine, because the all the 35's have a 5 speed tranny without overdrive, so they drink like crazy on the highway with rpms. Get the m37, the cost you'll save in gas will prob make up for it, also you will get a more quite ride.
I just believe the vqhr is almost the same as the vqde, I believe they have dual air intakes, instead of one as in the hr. I would'nt be concerned with reliability with either of the 09 hr.
