i have a 91 q45, about 143k on it. car runs great but smells like gas when i start and drive it but not when its off. i replaced the fuel filter and it still smells. someone told me it could possibly be the rubber ring that is around the fuel pump??? anyone help pleaseeeee!:

Obviously its a pressure related issue. The smell only is present when the car is on and the fuel pump is putting pressure to the fuel lines and fittings. In this case, i would take it somewhere you can put it up on a lift and inspect all the fuel lines under the car. It sounds like it may be coming from somewhere closer to the fuel tank. Let us know what you find.
